Act in tandem for pollution-free world’

The world today is in a grave danger due to climate change, temperature rise, unseasonable and excessive rains, cyclones and severe air pollution. At this critical juncture, concerted efforts are needed to be taken by the people for a green and pollution free globe,” said Prancer Green Army commander-in-chief and former MLA Dillip Richardson here.
He was addressing a congregation, named ‘Sabuja Pruthibi Pain Ame’ attended by about 60 representatives from eight countries and 500 members of the Green Army on Sunday.
Srichandan told that while oxygen parlours were opened in Beijing in China due to severe air pollution of the city earlier, now, similar oxygen parlours were being opened in Delhi, showing the extent to which the air quality of the national capital has gone down. He called upon the participants and people at large to plant trees, save forests and environment as a remedy to save the earth. Srichandan also administered oath to them to join the Green Army and commit themselves for a green earth.
Among others, representatives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Odisha Bira Mahasangha president Dr Prakash Srichandan, actress Swadhina from London, Odishashri Srikanta Kumar, ITER director Manas Ranjan Mallick, Dikhya secretary Sunit Mund, actress Padmaja Jena, social worker Sujata Chowdhury, Dr Chidembika Khatua, Sujata Nayak, Amino Ali, Minati Ratha and Lucy Mohapatra spoke. They warned if the present world does not wake up, the future will be disastrous.
An awareness rally was taken out from Ganga Nagar to Airport area on the occasion.
